This piece is thought provoking as it aims to convey the importance of reinvention and reproducing by recycling. Working with found objects and discarded items is way of expressing these views. I experimented and worked intuitively before the completion of the graded unit brief 2012. I dipped the found rope into multiple layers of the medium liquid latex. As the substance becomes dry its appearance becomes weathered as the colour deteriorates within time, this portrays a sense of time passing, my relevant relations to this theory is as the found item was found in an obvious place of time passing significantly with the tide rising and the sun setting each night at my chosen place, Arbroath Beach, Scotland, where the net was initially found. I specifically choose to gain something as my inspiration increased highly as I approached Arbroath’s Scottish surroundings, I instantly knew my work would relate back to this place.
